Siskel & Ebert Online Video Archive
A new archive of film reviews has just been opened online. The At the Movies with Ebert & Roeper website contains excerpts from the US television shows presented by film critics Gene Siskel, Roger Ebert, and Richard Roeper from the late 80's to the present day.
Siskel and Ebert were well known for their heated discussions about a number of films over the years including Apocalypse Now (1979), Blue Velvet (1986), and The Silence of the Lambs (1991). Their discussions were very enlightening and often touched on broader aspects of filmmaking including cultural and racial trends in storylines; the depiction of violence; and the distribution and rating systems in the U.S.
The site also includes a number of special programmes covering their Oscar predictions. One particular segment features Roger Ebert and Martin Scorecese's top 5 films of the 1990's.
The interface on the site is fast and easy to use and it's a great resource if you are planning on going to the cinema or renting movies.
For more information, see the Links section below for links to the site and also a list of Interesting Reviews I have come across so far.
